Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)

This is a process that Canadian business must perform in order to hire a foreign national. They have to show the Canadian government that they tried to hire someone in this occupation in Canada and were not able to.

Recruitment efforts and advertisements posted in different websites for a period of at least 6 weeks must be proved. The business must show that they are established and have the financial requirements to pay this new employee.

This part of the application will be submitted to Service Canada. After an assessment a positive, negative or neutral decision will be made.
